I first encountered the bhakti path some twenty years ago, at the Hanuman Temple in Taos New Mexico. I was taken by it all-the flowers, the music, the prasad, the lovely Hanuman, and the delicious energy. The one thing missing for me was the GURU, so I remained very much on the perifory of this scene for some time. Then, in 1994, a friend in Taos invited me to come to Santa Fe to meet "this incredible woman saint from India". It was there I met Amma. I was taken by her before she even entered the tent, as my heart began to pound, and tears came to my eyes. When she entered, my heart exploded in joy, because I knew for the first time that a "great one" walks the earth. I fell in love with Mother that year, and several years later I fell in love with Indian devotional music. I grew up playing the piano, but never sang (in public), as I was a very shy child. I just sang to myself as I went about my day, in a natural expression as people do.

My music today is a direct outgrowth of my personal sadhana. I have been singing at satsang and leading kirtans for about twelve years, and have completed one CD "An Endless Expanse of Love", which will be available for sale at the healing day. Currently, my music is a blend of tradition Indian bhajans, western style kirtan, mantra based original compositions, with a dash of Sufism. I am delighted to collaborate with Dave Mallard, a highly talented jazz musician, who has also been performing for Amma for many years. Dave can play just about any instrument he touches, and will be performing on flute and violin. The percussion section is very world beat- a blend of Indian, African, and Western instruments.
